Wild on Littleton Block Party!

On Saturday, June 19th, Historic Downtown Littleton is hosting its annual Wild on Littleton Block Party!

The family event will take place on Saturday, June 19th, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. all along the four blocks of Historic Downtown Littleton's Main Street which will be closed beginning at 4:00 p.m. The traffic will be replaced with food, music, dancing, games, displays, fireworks, and merchant booths reminiscent of an old fashioned block party (only on a much larger scale).

Chiaroscuro will be staying open until 9:00pm for this fun event, with many in-store specials! So, please stop by to visit! Remember that Father's Day is on Sunday, and we have many great Father's Day gifts!

We had a great holiday season this year! The Candlelight Walk brought hundreds of visitors to downtown Littleton, and the Late Night Shopping night was a huge success! We had Santa in the store and had a photographer from Sandy Puc Portrait Design take photos of the children with him. It was a very festive night!

Sandy Puc′ Portrait Design is anticipating a big weekend this summer.

Grand Opening Celebration!

On August 22nd, we’ll be throwing open the doors to celebrate the grand opening of our new location at 7201 S. Broadway in Littleton.

We’ve been fixing and styling the studio to turn it into a showcase that we’re excited to share with you. As you might expect of a Sandy Puc′ Portrait Design affair, the grand opening will be a fun party with prizes, raffles, food, and more. We’re even giving all our guests who join us that day a $50 certificate good toward portraits.

Come and celebrate with us as we proudly introduce our new facility.

We’re also counting down the days until we host our first 100 Lengths of Love for Charity Party. The event will be held at the studio on Sunday, August 23rd. The 100 Lengths of Love for Charity Party benefits the Locks of Love Foundation and the Arapahoe Foster Care Program.

Help us meet our goal of donating 100 feet of hair to Locks of Love. Your hair can make an incredible difference for someone suffering hair loss due to a medical condition, and the school supplies are a welcome necessity for local children.

A woman and husband came in to browse the other day. They were preparing a nursery for their first child and were looking for unique items. The couple was happy to discover two pieces of furniture that would be perfect for them, and purchased both. One was a white antique table that they will use as a changing table, and the other item was a mint green bookcase. They also bought a sign for the baby's room that says, "Easy Does It." The expectant mom loved the sign. She said that she’ll look at it when the baby won't stop crying, and it will remind her to take it easy!

Grand Opening!

Saturday morning dawned overcast and rainy, but even the dismal weather could not dampen the mood at 2660 West Main Street in Littleton as Chiaroscuro celebrated its grand opening.

The store delighted the steady stream of customers who escaped the weather and stepped through the charming double doors to discover a wide range of offerings. I work for Sam in her marketing department and had not gotten an opportunity to see the store as a work in progress, so I was eager to pop in and be dazzled by Sam’s latest and greatest offerings to the world.

I took my 22-year-old daughter along, and that may have been a mistake for me. She went crazy for all the hip furniture and décor, cool frames, and unique chandeliers. Now it’s put her in the mood to do a little redecorating.

I was going to a baby shower later in the day and already purchased a gift, but I couldn’t resist buying a growth chart for the new baby. It’s such a clever idea. It’s a clear plastic tape measure that has frame openings next to the measurements so that you can tuck in a photo of what the baby looks like when she’s two feet tall. It goes all the way up to five feet. Cute!

I never imagined that there were so many different ways to display photographs. There were lots of photo displays and so many different styles. My daughter is after me to buy the one that fits on the corner of a wall and wraps around to be viewed from two different angles.

I had no idea that Sam would have purses and cool shirts for sale too. And also larger bags to carry lots of stuff. The lotions and candles smelled delicious. It was almost difficult to focus on one great item when so many unique things were screaming for your attention: clever packaged card games (I bought the game that has cards you pass around the Thanksgiving table to generate interesting conversation), cute signs, lamps -- you just have to see it to believe it.

Oh, and I’ve got to mention the gift baskets. They’re not your usual food-and-cute-nonsense items you find in common gift baskets. They are custom designed by Chiaroscuro and have thoughtful, appropriate items combined with at least one photo display. They are made for almost any occasion you can think of. Chiaroscuro will be a nice resource for my future gift giving.

Chiaroscuro is a store that really has something for everyone. So if you’re in the area, do yourself a favor, and check it out.

We selected the awning today....and we repainted the front of the store a better black...Oh, we are afraid to tell my hubby that the trim is the wrong color..but we will repaint that this weekend too!

The Furniture is here!

Oh my goodness. Over 36 pieces of furniture arrived! This is all custom furniture from one of our elite designers. The images just do not do it justice. We have already sold several pieces. All of the furniture is recycled from old sets, redesigned, custom fabric is added and tada! The coolest, most original furniture around. We are already ordering another full shipment because we can see that these are going to be hard to keep in stock.

Ok, Tons of new products have arrived! We are busy stocking the shelves with so many awesome items. Everyday we receive more exciting products that are so cool! The best part, is that they are practical, useful and meaningful as well!

We are all thinking we are gong to go broke buying them for ourselves! I will post some of the really cool stuff later this week. Right now, we are back to stocking shelves!

We're going to begin this blog by showing the evolution of our new store in historic Littleton, Colorado. You'll get a front seat to all the blood, sweat, and tears that it takes to make this dream a reality. Once we're up and running, this blog is where we'll present new products and ideas.
